Volunteer Management in Faith-Based Organizations (FBO’s)

Dr. Coleman holds the distinction of being the author of the original empirically based theory on volunteer management, showcasing her innovative thinking in this field by delving into the intricate dynamics of volunteer engagement within religious institutions. In her dissertation, “Volunteer Management in Faith-Based Organizations,” Dr. Coleman demonstrated groundbreaking and unparalleled insight into optimizing volunteer programs within religious institutions. Her guidance will help to ensure efficient utilization of resources and the cultivation of an effective, efficient, diverse, and engaged volunteer pool. * A long-term mature member of the Christian faith community, Dr. Coleman is the author the terms, Identity in Christ, The Emerging Multicultural Church and Eurotheism.

Volunteer management consulting is based on her theoretical framework and includes knowledge and strategies around all aspects of volunteer management including:

  • Recruitment
  • Recognition
  • Retention
  • Training and development, etc.

* Dr. Coleman is a seasoned consultant with a profound dedication to challenging real and perceived racism advanced by mainstream American church community, against non-white members of society. She is passionate about assisting churches and organizations, who seek to

  • reflect their Identity in Christ on/as the topic of race/race relations within and influenced by the church community.
  • have an eagerness to learn, grow, explore, and address racism within their congregation and spheres of influence

Dr. Coleman encourages leaders to reach out to her to embark on an honest, transformative journey towards creating more empathetic, knowledgeable churches, where leadership and congregations fundamentally understand that race (a social construct) and outcomes of racism is in opposition to the message of The Bible through the Lordship of Jesus Christ. She believes that together, people of The Faith can make a difference not only within churches, but also in the lives of countless individuals who perceive the church and Christianity for what it is: an honest, truthful, meaningful and caring representative of the God of the Bible; made up of people from every nation, language, kinship and origin.
